Gloucestershire NHS Procurement Shared Service - Customer Case Study

Gloucestershire NHS Procurement Shared Service, hosted by Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, needed to comply with Department of Health requirements by providing a unified catalogue across three Trusts while reducing catalogue maintenance, improving purchasing efficiency, tightening spend control, and increasing compliance with preferred supplier contracts. They worked with Science Warehouse on an eCatalogue and eMarketplace solution to support these goals.

Science Warehouse implemented an externally managed, integrated eCatalogue/eMarketplace that gave more than 2,500 users access to authorised contracted products and pricing across key suppliers, with connections to the Trusts’ finance systems. The solution improved data accuracy and traceability, increased eMarketplace usage month-on-month, and after nearly a year had supported over 32,000 orders and estimated procurement efficiencies of £460,000, while reducing transactional costs and freeing staff to focus on value-creating work.
