Pell Frischmann transforms Centre Point into 21,000 sqm of luxury homes with SCIA

Pell Frischmann, a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, faced several complex challenges during the large-scale transformation of London's Grade II listed Centre Point building. These challenges included designing a new piled raft to protect an adjacent tube tunnel, removing entire floors in an inhabited annex, and executing a high-level façade retention. They utilized SCIA Engineer to address these structural design and analysis needs.

SCIA Engineer provided the flexible modeling tools necessary for Pell Frischmann to work efficiently on this refurbishment. The software's multi-material capability allowed the team to create and combine isolated local analysis models, avoiding the need to model the entire building and saving time. This solution enabled the successful conversion of the landmark into luxury residential and retail space, and the project was recognized with the SCIA User Contest 2017 – Prize of the Public.
