Tapping into Schoology’s API to Integrate a K-12 District’s Public-Facing Website

North Canton City Schools, a 4,500-student district with seven schools, faced a “perfect storm” of needs: a 1:1 Chromebook rollout, selection of a new LMS, and a desire to replace disparate school websites with a cohesive public site. The district chose Schoology for its gradebook and collaboration features and hired agency Innis Maggiore to revamp branding and leverage Schoology’s API to feed selected, password-protected content into a single public-facing website.

Innis Maggiore implemented a secure API connection so each school maintains one Schoology page that automatically populates the district site with announcements, resources, photos and teacher bios. The integration streamlined content management, eliminated duplicate maintenance, delivered a consistent branded look, and made communication more personalized and accessible to parents and the community.
