A Schoology Case Study
Mount Pleasant Area School District, a medium-sized district near Pittsburgh serving 2,000+ students (average commute 45 minutes), needed a way to bring consistent, classroom-ready technology to teachers and students. After introducing apps like G‑Suite, Kahoot, and ThingLink, leaders wanted a single LMS with SIS rostering and grade passback, content sharing, parent/student communication, and single sign‑on—but cost was a barrier until intermediate unit pricing made Schoology affordable for a pilot in grades 7–12.
Using Schoology to unify tools and workflows, the district kept students from moving to the county eAcademy, improved blended learning, and streamlined processes like make‑up work and real‑time grade reporting. Parents gained visibility into lessons, teachers benefited from integrated materials and communication, and recorded lessons (via Swivl) gave absent or reviewing students easy access to course content.
