East Irondequoit Advances their Digital Conversion with Schoology’s LMS

East Irondequoit Central School District (EICSD), a K–12 district in Monroe County, NY serving about 3,200 students, launched a district-wide digital conversion in 2012–13 that began with iPad rollouts and a growing 1:1 program. The district needed strong teacher support and professional development, reliable digital resources, and a plan to help teaching practices evolve with technology, so a selection committee evaluated multiple LMS options against criteria like ease of use, parent access, mobile support, analytics, SSO, and tech support.

EICSD piloted Schoology in February 2014, then adopted it district-wide within a year after overwhelmingly positive feedback. Schoology delivered intuitive course management, parent visibility, mobile access, analytics to track adoption, and a single portal for district-approved apps—resulting in 100% teacher adoption, improved parent–teacher communication, reduced negative feedback, and better classroom device management.
