Show Me KC Schools, a nonprofit in Kansas City formed to help families navigate 90+ K–12 options, confronted a fragmented enrollment landscape where a typical kindergartner faced about 25 school choices and roughly 23 different application processes. SchoolMint’s shared application platform powered SchoolAppKC for 16 of the city’s 22 charter schools, delivering measurable gains: roughly 4,200 applications by early March (nearly matching the prior year’s 4,300 by August 1), 84% of early applicants represented ethnicities other than Caucasian, and schools saw rapid uptake (17 apps within two minutes of launch).
