Oakland Unified School District - Customer Case Study

Oakland Unified School District faced a more complex school-choice landscape and low family participation, with enrollment processes that limited access and reinforced inequities. To broaden access and simplify enrollment, the district adopted SchoolMint’s Strategic Enrollment Management suite — including SchoolFinder, Application & Lottery Management, and Registration & Re-enrollment Management — along with an online, multilingual application and waitlist platform.

Using SchoolMint, OUSD shifted staff from data entry to family verification, implemented adaptable lottery algorithms and sandboxes, and applied longitudinal and demographic analyses and waitlist monitoring to increase equity and diversity.
