Miami-Dade County Public Schools Upgrading an Application and Student Lottery System to Improve School Choice Programs

Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the third largest school district in the United States, needed a better way to enroll more than 331,000 students into its magnet schools and school choice programs. The district wanted an application and lottery process that was equitable, accessible, and manageable at its scale, so it turned to SchoolMint.

SchoolMint implemented SchoolMint Enroll as an integrated, configurable enrollment management platform. The district integrated data from its existing student information system to pre-fill applications, added Single Sign On for parents and administrators, and created tutorial videos plus English and Spanish user manuals to support families. These changes saved time for administrators and parents, reduced the number of usernames and passwords needed, and improved access to the enrollment process.
