A SchoolMint Case Study
Glendale Unified School District, which serves more than 25,000 students in Glendale, California, needed a better way to manage growing demand for its magnet schools and special programs, including Dual-Language Immersion, STEAM, Visual and Performing Arts, CTE pathways, AP programs, and Transitional Kindergarten. The district also needed to keep enrollment fair and accessible for families, many of whom were new to the United States or faced language barriers, while handling a complex student lottery and inter- and intra-district permits.
Glendale Unified School District selected SchoolMint Enroll to manage DLI, magnet programs, and inter- and intra-district transfers. SchoolMint Enroll gave staff configurability, real-time reporting, translated languages, and live visibility into family applications, which helped reduce confusion and support calls; on November 1, 2024, Barrientos said the office heard “silence” when applications opened for the 2024–2025 school year. The district also used the platform to make data-driven enrollment decisions, improve lottery transparency, and save staff time previously spent on manual support.
