A SchoolMint Case Study
Cicero School District 99, a Chicago-area district of 16 schools serving more than 10,000 pre-K–8 students (about 55.4% from bilingual/ELL households), faced persistent challenges with student suspensions and chronic absenteeism. To create consistent, district-wide behavior interventions, the district partnered with SchoolMint and adopted its behavior management product, Hero.
SchoolMint implemented Hero to standardize interventions and tracking across classrooms and schools, producing measurable improvements: elementary students with one or more days of suspension fell 55%, elementary students with 15+ days of absence fell 67%, junior high students with 15+ days of absence fell 36%, elementary students with one or more referrals fell 60%, and junior high students with one or more referrals fell 23% (compared to the 2018–2019 school year).
