Spokane Public Schools launches 4-pathway healthcare academy with SchooLinks

Spokane Public Schools sought to create equitable, sustainable work-based learning pathways into local healthcare careers for its students, but faced significant barriers in coordination, logistics, and funding. Partnering with industry leader Providence Medical Group, the district worked with SchooLinks, a college and career readiness platform, to design and implement a solution.

Through the SchooLinks platform, the partners established the Providence Healthcare Academy, a program providing students with paid, hands-on experience and industry certifications during the school day. SchooLinks helped facilitate the collaboration, which resulted in a successful pilot cohort. Students gained valuable skills and credentials, removing financial barriers to entry and creating a direct talent pipeline for the local healthcare system.
