Settling into Remote Learning with Matthew Flinders Anglican College

Matthew Flinders Anglican College, a Prep to Year 12 school on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, needed to keep students learning effectively when COVID-19 forced a rapid shift to remote education. The school had already been using Schoolbox and its MyFlinders portal to support digital learning, but it now needed consistent expectations, stronger routines, and a smooth experience for students, teachers, and parents.

Schoolbox helped the college by supporting its existing learning management setup, integrating with Cisco Webex for live lessons, and providing a central place for lesson plans, resources, assessments, and COVID-19 updates. Teachers and students received training to improve remote teaching and learning, and the results were positive: feedback from staff, students, and parents was overwhelmingly strong, with 95% of primary parents saying teacher instructions greatly supported students’ remote work.
