How Saint Kentigern improved excursions and events with Schoolbox’s unique EOTC module

Saint Kentigern College, one of New Zealand’s largest independent school groups, needed a better way to manage excursions and events outside the classroom across three campuses. Its existing SharePoint workflow was no longer sufficient for administering all trips and ensuring student safety, so the college worked with Schoolbox and its education outside the classroom (EOTC) module.

Schoolbox delivered a custom EOTC solution built into the school’s existing Schoolbox platform, integrating with tools like the calendar and resource booking system. The new system centralised trip planning, approvals, staffing, resources, and risk documentation, improved visibility and communication, and made administration much simpler. Saint Kentigern reported better accountability, safety, and transparency, and the system now processes peak volumes of over 5,000 students, with 2,382 trips recorded in the provided data.
