Whirlpool Corporation faced the challenge of turning a global sustainability goal — zero waste to landfill by 2020 — into measurable, repeatable action across 40 manufacturing sites with a small sustainability team. To get consistent, comparable data and a way to track progress, Whirlpool partnered with Schneider Electric and adopted the EcoStruxure Resource Advisor platform.

Schneider Electric worked with Whirlpool Corporation to define data scope, standardize collection and deploy EcoStruxure Resource Advisor with site dashboards and managed streams for electricity, water and waste. As a result, three Brazilian plants reached zero waste-to-landfill two years early, Whirlpool uncovered over 20 million pounds of cardboard waste in its Ohio plants and projects more than $1M in savings over three years, and staff are trained to use the platform to drive ongoing efficiency improvements.
