A Schneider Electric Case Study
Nestlé Nescafé — Toluca, Mexico, the world’s largest soluble coffee factory producing about 1 million jars daily, faced reliability challenges in its electrical distribution after multiple unplanned stoppages (eight in one year) and a costly 14‑hour outage in April 2020 that cost roughly $588,000. To gain visibility and prevent downtime, Nestlé Nescafé partnered with Schneider Electric to evaluate and deploy EcoStruxure solutions, including EcoStruxure Power and EcoStruxure Asset Advisor.
Schneider Electric connected LV Prisma panels, Trihal transformers, QDLogic switchboards, PowerLogic Tag Series sensors and other equipment to EcoStruxure Asset Advisor for 24/7 remote monitoring and predictive maintenance via its Connected Services Hub. The implementation improved asset health and service continuity, enabled remote monitoring of five substations, generated a dozen actionable alerts in three years, avoided three unplanned stoppages, and allowed maintenance cycles to move from annual to biannual — delivering measurable uptime and cost benefits for Nestlé Nescafé.
