SA Power Networks - Customer Case Study

SA Power Networks, which supplies electricity to 1.5 million households, was struggling with frequent outages, slow fault location across a vast rural network with limited SCADA coverage, and high bushfire risk from overhead conductor faults. Schneider Electric was engaged to help, delivering its EcoStruxure ADMS solution along with RM6 medium voltage switchgear, MiCOM substation and bay controllers and decentralised feeder automation.

Schneider Electric implemented EcoStruxure ADMS and associated edge control and connected products, boosting monitoring capacity from about 80,000 to 1 million data points and enabling real‑time control, load‑flow analysis and operational planning. The result for SA Power Networks was faster, more accurate fault location, isolation and restoration, greater network visibility and resilience, and improved operational use and training.
