Providing Europe's largest Gold mine with an efficient, safe, and reliable electrical system

TÜPRAG, operator of the largest gold mine in Europe, needed a safe, reliable and flexible electrical infrastructure to manage and control heavy mining equipment — including removable substations to power an electrical excavator and two drillers. Schneider Electric was brought in to deliver this critical power solution, deploying its EcoStruxure Power platform (including EcoStruxure Power SCADA Operation) and connected products such as SM6-36 and MCSet switchgear, Trihal transformers, Blokset and Okken LV panels, and VSD drives.

Schneider Electric built roughly 90% of the mine’s electrical equipment and implemented thermal monitoring, arc‑flash detection and remote‑monitored mobile E‑House Skid substations to feed excavators and drillers, supported by an on‑site Schneider Electric field supervisor. The result is improved safety and reliability, uninterrupted supply for production equipment, and analytics-ready systems that support future services — contributing to TÜPRAG’s efficient operation that helps produce about 13 tonnes of gold per year.
