A Schneider Electric Case Study
Retirement Systems of Alabama, the administrator of the state’s pension fund, operates a 44,000 sq ft colocation data center (2.6 MW of backup power, ~300 racks) that hosts hospitals, universities, emergency services and other critical tenants. To protect its reputation for high availability and to gain real‑time visibility across more than 800 devices, Retirement Systems of Alabama turned to Schneider Electric and its EcoStruxure IT architecture—along with Schneider Electric UPS, cooling and power distribution hardware—to future‑proof operations and simplify monitoring.
Schneider Electric deployed standardized UPS, InRow cooling, rPDU and precision air handlers combined with EcoStruxure IT (cloud‑hosted monitoring), EcoStruxure Asset Advisor and the Schneider Electric Service Bureau for 24/7 remote support. The result: off‑hours monitoring and troubleshooting dropped from hours to minutes, staff response time fell to practically zero, mean time to repair accelerated through Service Bureau dispatch and parts handling, and the facility has sustained six years of zero downtime—delivering measurable resilience and operational peace of mind.
