Case Study: Genève Aéroport achieves reliable, cost‑effective electrical modernization and remote monitoring with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure

A Schneider Electric Case Study

Preview of the Genève Aéroport Case Study

Modernizing an airport’s electrical distribution from parking to departure

Genève Aéroport, Switzerland’s second-largest airport serving about 15 million passengers a year and planning for growth to 25 million by 2030, needed to modernize its electrical distribution from parking to departure without disrupting 24/7 airport operations. They partnered with Schneider Electric and deployed EcoStruxure for Airports / EcoStruxure Power solutions, using products such as SM6 and RM6 switchgear, Easergy T200 feeder automation and Prisma PLV low‑voltage enclosures to upgrade systems from transformers through monitoring software.

Schneider Electric delivered a complete medium‑ and low‑voltage renovation plus digital monitoring—new switchgear, feeder automation, low‑voltage cabinets and EcoStruxure monitoring—enabling remote substation control, third‑party integration at the control center and centralized energy reporting. The solution improved reliability and safety, saved space with indoor switchgear, minimized operational disruption so the airport continued serving passengers uninterrupted, and provided a cost‑effective, off‑the‑shelf modernization that positions Genève Aéroport for future growth.
