How Schneider modernization services enabled a facility upgrade for more efficient and environmentally friendly operations

Danone Evian, the evian natural mineral water bottling site in Évian‑les‑Bains, engaged Schneider Electric to modernize its electrical infrastructure and meet ambitious sustainability targets. The key challenge was to reduce energy use and environmental impact while keeping production running—modernization work had to be completed within just two annual maintenance shutdowns—so Danone Evian chose Schneider Electric’s Service and Modernization Plan supported by an MPS audit, ECOFIT solutions and EcoStruxure-enabled services.

Schneider Electric delivered a 7‑year modernization and maintenance contract including an MPS audit, MV replacement with SM6 switchgear, ECOFIT upgrades to LV switchgear with MasterPact MTZ breakers, SF6 end‑of‑life handling and real‑time energy monitoring via EcoStruxure. The result: improved power continuity and analytics-driven efficiency, a 34% reduction in energy consumption per liter since 2008 (by 2020), estimated savings of 315 metric tons CO2e and 372 m3 of water, Carbon Trust carbon‑neutral certification and operation on 100% renewable energy.
