Case Study: E.ON achieves SF6-free, more sustainable and reliable distribution with Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure solution

A Schneider Electric Case Study

Preview of the E.ON Case Study

How EcoStruxure for Electricity Companies is helping E.ON build a more sustainable future for Sweden

E.ON, which manages Sweden’s largest energy distribution network from Norrköping, wanted to reduce greenhouse gas risk and replace SF6 gas–insulated switchgear to meet ambitious sustainability goals. Schneider Electric was chosen to pilot its SF6‑free switchgear solution within the EcoStruxure for Electricity Companies framework, deploying SF6‑free switchgear alongside the Easergy T300 RTU and smart temperature and humidity sensors.

Schneider Electric’s pilot delivered an easy‑to‑install, interoperable substation kiosk with digital monitoring that technicians found intuitive. The Easergy T300 RTU and sensors increased network visibility and enabled early fault detection and targeted maintenance—minimizing customer interruption times and putting E.ON on a clear path to SF6‑free, more sustainable energy distribution.
