A Schneider Electric Case Study
Azalys, the Suez Hélyséo–operated waste treatment plant in Carrières‑sous‑Poissy that serves ~300,000 people and processes 125,000 metric tons of waste to produce 40 GWh/year, needed to modernize its high‑voltage substation—replacing obsolete protection relays and adding capacity—without disrupting service. Azalys partnered with Schneider Electric, leveraging EcoStruxure Service Plan and EcoStruxure Asset Advisor to enable condition‑based maintenance.
Schneider Electric installed RM6 and SM6 MV switchgear fitted with sensors, connected to the EcoStruxure platform and monitored by the Connected Services Hub, with reports accessible via mySchneider. The modernization was completed in four days (aligned with the annual shutdown) and introduced predictive maintenance and real‑time alerts, minimizing downtime risk and ensuring continuous waste treatment and energy production for the local communities.
