How a semiconductor packaging fab achieves improved uptime and safety with the EcoCare Services membership

SMART Modular Technologies, the Atibaia, Brazil semiconductor packaging and test leader, faced rising maintenance costs, limited visibility into critical electrical assets, and safety concerns despite advanced automation. To modernize its electrical distribution and shift from reactive to condition‑based maintenance, SMART partnered with Schneider Electric, deploying SM6 switchgear with smart thermal sensors and adopting the EcoCare services membership and EcoStruxure XR Operator Advisor.

Schneider Electric installed and configured the SM6 gear (completed in a day), enabled 24/7 remote health monitoring and faster remote/onsite support via EcoCare, standardized preventive maintenance, and delivered XR‑based operator training. The solution gave SMART continuous thermal sensing, real‑time reports on mySchneider, faster response times, and measurable improvements in uptime, efficiency, safety and progress toward its sustainability goals.
