Case Study: Oracle Corporation achieves high-quality power and fast payback with Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure Power

A Schneider Electric Case Study

EcoStruxure™ Power helps Oracle achieve high-quality power with fast payback

Oracle Corporation faced a critical reliability challenge at its Redwood Shores campus: power interruptions that could cost the company an estimated $5–10 million per day. To secure continuous power for thousands of developers and 24/7 customer support, Oracle built its own 13 MW substation and engaged Schneider Electric, deploying EcoStruxure Power solutions including EcoStruxure™ Power Monitoring Expert and PowerLogic advanced power meters.

Schneider Electric implemented a full-featured power management system—networked meters and monitoring software tied into Oracle’s Ethernet—to track harmonics, transients, sags/swells, energy use, transformer conditions and to page staff on alarms. The system let Oracle pinpoint faults in seconds, logged more than 30 utility-side transient events in one year, delivered an estimated three-year ROI on a $6 million project, and produced ongoing savings through efficiency improvements, bill auditing and scalable, revenue-accurate metering as Oracle moves toward enterprise-wide energy reporting.
