EcoStruxure for Utility Enables Ruiping Power Plant in China to Save More Than $2 Million Per Year

Ruiping Power Plant, a China-based electricity supplier in Henan producing 1.5 billion kW of steam‑generated energy annually, faced strict national energy‑saving and emission‑reduction targets and needed the ability to see, measure, and manage energy use across the entire plant. The Ruiping Power Plant selected Schneider Electric and its EcoStruxure™ for Utility approach to provide an end‑to‑end solution for process and energy management.

Schneider Electric performed audits, identified key inefficiencies, and deployed its EcoStruxure platform and Energy Management System to capture real‑time KPIs, integrate energy‑saving technologies, and optimize operations. The Schneider Electric solution delivered measurable results: annual savings of €1,655,000 (~$2.17M), 27 million kWh of electricity saved, 7,735 tonnes of coal avoided, and more than 20,265 tonnes of CO2 emissions reduced, while enabling ongoing performance monitoring and further improvements.
