Enel, Italy’s largest power company, needed an advanced distribution management system but lacked the internal resources and mathematical expertise to analyze data and predict the impact of outages, generation shifts, and voltage variation. Schneider Electric was engaged to address this challenge using its EcoStruxure ADMS solution.

Schneider Electric implemented EcoStruxure ADMS to provide a real-time visual and mathematical model of Enel’s distribution network and integrated it with Enel’s SCADA, GIS, and OMS. The deployment delivered measurable results: about 144 GWh/year energy savings, roughly 75,000 tCO2 avoided annually, a steady ~4% operational gain, faster supply restoration and network reconfiguration, and significant cost savings through optimized network resources.
