How Civic Spirit Used Sched to Create Community

Civic Spirit is a New York-based nonprofit focused on strengthening civic education, and it needed a way to host its 3-week virtual We the Educators symposium during the COVID-19 pandemic without creating registration confusion or Zoom fatigue for busy teachers. It turned to Sched to help manage the online event and make it easier for educators to discover, register for, and join sessions.

Using Sched’s schedule management, Zoom integration, and personalized attendee profiles, Civic Spirit organized 13 virtual sessions, kept event details updated centrally, and let attendees filter sessions by topic and build their own schedules. The result was a smooth experience that connected 241 education professionals across 18 states, with 50% attending three or more sessions and a total of 361 hours of learning delivered; Sched helped Civic Spirit create a successful, community-focused virtual symposium.
