Hyster-Yale Group, a global leader in material handling, needed to modernize its geographically distributed Legal Department, which was managing a high volume of diverse contract types and related legal matters via a legacy, manually administered template system. Growth exposed inefficiencies, lack of global access to templates and documents, and limited matter tracking, so Hyster-Yale pursued a vendor-tailored solution rather than an out-of-the-box product and selected Symfact.
Symfact delivered an integrated Contract and Matter Management system with a user-friendly request portal, contract-type-specific data entry, Word check-out/check-in with clause and template libraries, secure repository for documents and emails, business-rule-driven workflows, fine-grained access controls, and linked “Matter Records.” The result was centralized template control and a single repository for contracts and matters, improved global collaboration, stronger audit and reporting capabilities, automated notifications and workflows, and more efficient tracking and linking of related contracts and legal matters.
