CEMEX, one of the world’s largest building materials companies, needed contractors and heavy machinery to prepare overburden strips in the UK. The project was a large, complex tender (over £1,000,000) requiring detailed 3D specifications and close coordination with quarry and operations managers; it was also CEMEX UK’s first eAuction.

CEMEX ran the procurement on Scanmarket’s eAuction platform, inviting seven pre-approved suppliers and using Scanmarket’s QuickCall expert support during preparation and the live event. The auction produced strong competitive bidding, delivered solid savings, and received substantial positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
