The Container Store - Customer Case Study

The Container Store wanted a better way to help shoppers scan and buy bulky items, especially in urban stores where carrying purchases home is difficult. To support its “GoShop! Scan and Deliver” program, the retailer looked for a more flexible alternative to traditional POS terminals and dedicated scanners, and worked with Scandit to improve the in-store scanning experience using iPhone-based mobile scanning.

Scandit provided the Barcode Scanner SDK and Scandit Case to turn consumer-grade iPhones into durable, ergonomic scanners. The solution delivered higher barcode-scanning performance than previous devices, worked well even on shelf labels behind plastic, and proved robust enough for heavy daily use. The Container Store saw positive customer feedback and a practical, lower-cost scanning setup with reduced maintenance and no extra scanning hardware components, while Scandit helped make the pilot successful.
