Case Study: Decathlon boosts digital sales with Scandit smartphone scanning

A Scandit Case Study

Preview of the Decathlon Case Study

Smartphone Scanning Accuracy Raises In-app Purchases to 10% of Digital Sales

Decathlon, the world’s largest sporting goods retailer, needed a way to improve product visibility and customer convenience in its Asia stores while facing high real estate costs and limited shelf space. To solve this, Decathlon integrated Scandit’s barcode scanning solution into its customer app to support a self-checkout, omnichannel shopping experience.

Scandit implemented fast, accurate smartphone scanning in the Decathlon app for Android and iOS, enabling customers to scan and pay in-store without queues. The results were strong: app purchases now account for about 30% of digital sales, average basket size rose 20%, customer satisfaction reached 4.8/5, and more than 100,000 users downloaded the app.
