How BYOD Smartphone Scanning Delivers Digital Transformation

Yodel, the delivery company, needed to modernize its courier operations by replacing outdated handheld terminals with a more flexible mobile app on smart devices. Working with Scandit, Yodel pursued a BYOD approach so drivers could use their own smartphones or company devices while keeping proof-of-delivery scanning fast and reliable.

Scandit provided the high-performance barcode scanning software for Yodel’s iOS and Android delivery app, which enabled real-time proof of delivery with a quick scan. The rollout was rapid to more than 600 users, and the app is now used daily by around 7,000 last-mile colleagues on over 300 device types, supporting a tenfold increase in Yodel’s BYOD community and improving courier productivity and experience.
