GfK, a global market research and consumer analytics company, needed a more modern way to collect shopper data from its testers worldwide. To improve both the quality and quantity of purchasing behavior data, GfK turned to Scandit and moved from dedicated handheld scanners to a smartphone-based self-scanning app.
Scandit implemented a barcode-scanning mobile app for GfK that supported a wide range of symbologies, including EAN, UPC, Code 128, and GS1 Databar, with strong speed and accuracy. As a result, GfK expanded its panel from 6,000 to 100,000 testers and achieved more consistent, higher-quality data collection while responding better to customer requirements.
