dmTECH, the IT group within dm-drogerie markt, needed a way to give store employees instant access to product information while advising customers in-store. To support more than 34,000 employee smartphones, dmTECH turned to Scandit and its Barcode Scanner SDK to replace shared scanning devices with a mobile app that could quickly identify products and deliver real-time information.

With Scandit, dmTECH integrated high-performance barcode scanning into its employee app, connecting it to SAP-based data and enabling easy scanning even in difficult conditions like poor lighting or damaged barcodes. The result was faster, more personalized customer support, full real-time answers to product questions, and time savings for stock-taking; the solution proved equal to traditional scanners and is now used across 34,000 devices.
