PostNL, the leading mail and logistics provider, needed a faster and more reliable way for its 27,000 delivery staff to scan barcodes during proof of delivery. Its existing scanning tool in the “Mijn werk” mobile app was too slow, especially when reading worn, blurry, or hard-to-reach barcodes in challenging weather conditions.

Scandit implemented the Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK in PostNL’s mobile app, enabling quick, accurate scanning across a wide range of devices and integrating smoothly with the existing workflow. The result was faster deliveries, positive feedback from staff, and the ability to scan between 250,000 and 350,000 deliveries each week, with Scandit also supporting PostNL’s KIX barcode reading and future MatrixScan plans.
