Augmented Reality Takes Warehouse Smartphone App to the Next Level

Agrippa Solutions, a Norway-based supply chain solutions provider, needed to add fast GS1 128 barcode scanning to its existing smartphone app for warehouse receiving. Its customers had to verify pallet shipments quickly and accurately, including damaged items and best-before dates, but their previous scanning approach was too slow and difficult to integrate. Scandit’s Barcode Scanner SDK with MatrixScan-AR was chosen to improve performance and handle real-world shipping labels in challenging conditions.

With Scandit, Agrippa enabled users to capture multiple barcodes on a pallet in a single scan and process shipment data at once. The result was a major time savings: customers reported saving 30 minutes per container, Agrippa saw about 2.5 to 4.5 man-hours saved daily, and 66 pallets could be scanned in under two minutes from distances up to half a meter.
