Supersmart provides innovative checkout solutions for retailers across Europe, the US and Latin America, but needed a fast, reliable way to support next-gen self-scanning while minimizing shrinkage and mismatches at validation stations. To solve this, Supersmart chose Scandit and its Barcode Scanner SDK for the self-scanning mobile app, requiring high-speed performance on many smartphone models and in difficult scanning conditions.

Scandit implemented its scanning engine in the Supersmart app, delivering snappy, accurate barcode capture across more than 20,000 device models, even on damaged labels and in low light. The results were strong: over 500,000 scans processed per month, 80% of shoppers using the app, and checkout throughput up to 5x faster than regular cashier stations, with shorter waits, lower costs, and high customer satisfaction.
