Zalando Standardizes on Scalyr for Log Management

Zalando, Europe’s leading online fashion retailer, moved from a monolithic app to a microservices architecture and needed a log management solution that could scale across very large datasets and be adoptable by the entire engineering organization. After evaluating options, Zalando selected Scalyr’s log management platform and Scalyr Agent for easy log collection, custom parsing, and a self-service UI that fit its “Radical Agility” engineering culture.

Scalyr was deployed quickly with minimal configuration, giving teams autonomy to search and drill into logs instantly; search time dropped from about 10 minutes to under 15 seconds. As a result, Scalyr is used by more than 1,000 Zalando engineers to identify root causes, mitigate incidents faster, collect monitoring metrics, and proactively investigate issues—significantly streamlining the company’s cloud move and reducing monitoring and troubleshooting overhead.
