Transport Systems Catapult uses Scality RING to advance intelligent mobility

Transport Systems Catapult (TSC), a UK innovation center focused on intelligent mobility, needed a secure, open, and highly scalable way to manage the growing volume of data sets in its mobility data hub. As it accumulated data from sensors, geospatial modeling, autonomous vehicle testing, and other sources, TSC wanted a storage platform that could grow with future demand; it used Scality RING to meet that need.

Scality implemented RING with two-site replication and erasure coding to provide strong data durability, availability, and storage efficiency. The result was a highly resilient environment that supports zero-downtime access for scientists and can scale to hundreds of petabytes, with work able to continue even if one site — and part of a second — is lost.
