A Scality Case Study
CHU Dijon Bourgogne, a major French university hospital, needed to modernize its medical imaging storage as data volumes grew and its existing system became unstable, hard to update, and unable to meet SLAs. The hospital also had strict long-term retention requirements for patient and imaging data, plus the need for secure, always-available access for doctors and researchers.
To address this, CHU Dijon Bourgogne implemented the Scality RING software-defined object storage platform on HPE Apollo 4200 servers. Scality delivered a highly scalable, secure, multi–data center solution with replication and erasure coding, enabling easier updates without downtime and much faster access to medical images—reportedly 99.96% faster—while supporting future AI and genomic research initiatives.
