Case Study: MediaHub achieves instant, no-fee access to global news archives with Scality

A Scality Case Study

Preview of the MediaHub Case Study

Simplified, cost-effective storage-as-a-service for broadcasters enables real-time access to archives

MediaHub, a major Australian broadcast service provider responsible for live delivery of more than 400 TV channels and 90 radio stations, needed a low-cost way to store rapidly growing archives while providing instant, global access and avoiding cloud egress fees—all while meeting privacy and regulatory requirements. To address this, MediaHub worked with Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Scality, leveraging Scality RING scalable object storage as the foundation of its ArkHub storage-as-a-service.

Scality enabled MediaHub to stretch dense object storage across its data centers and two co‑locations (integrated with HPE Apollo hardware), delivering 14‑nines durability and one hundred percent availability and enabling instant, no‑fee retrieval of content retained in Australia. The ArkHub solution improved business continuity and tape-to-digital workflows, empowered broadcasters to repurpose archives for richer, timelier content, and opened new revenue opportunities in healthcare, education, and finance.
