Major U.S. Internet Services Provider - Customer Case Study - Customer Case Study

Major U.S. Internet Services Provider, which serves more than 26 million customers, needed to replace legacy EMC DMX block storage with a modern email backend that delivered absolute resilience, no single point of failure, and no reduction in performance. They selected Scality and its Scality RING software-defined object storage to meet strict availability and scalability requirements for millions of email accounts.

Scality implemented an active/active, geo-distributed Scality RING architecture (with file and object interfaces) across two sites and provided professional services to integrate with the provider’s messaging platform and migrate hardware using the Dynamic RING Locator. The deployment now stores more than 200 billion objects, can tolerate an entire data-center loss and full rack failures with zero user impact, enabled zero-downtime upgrades and a seamless hardware migration, and preserved data integrity and continuous availability during large-scale disk failures.
