Napkin AI goes enterprise-ready on Firebase with Scalekit, launching Entra ID and Okta SSO

Napkin AI, a company that transforms text into visuals for team collaboration, needed to add enterprise single sign-on (SSO) capabilities to meet stricter IT requirements. Their challenge was to implement this without refactoring their existing, stable Firebase Authentication system, as rebuilding auth in-house would have significantly slowed their development roadmap. They turned to the vendor Scalekit for a solution.

Scalekit provided a solution by integrating as an OpenID Connect provider with Firebase, routing authentication through the customer's identity provider like Entra ID or Okta. This allowed Napkin AI to support both IdP and service provider initiated flows without custom Firebase complexity. The results with Scalekit included a successful async rollout for their first enterprise partner, establishing a repeatable SSO foundation for future customers without any core auth refactoring.
