A Scale Computing Case Study
Triton School Corporation, a K–12 district in Bourbon, IN serving about 1,000 students with 71 staff and a two-person IT team, needed to add shared storage and true high availability to an existing VMware virtual environment. The district’s small IT staff and tight K–12 budget made traditional SAN/NAS plus VMware failover complex, expensive, and risky due to multi-vendor support issues and steep management overhead.
Triton deployed Scale Computing’s HC3 hyper‑converged platform, which combines servers, storage and a built‑in hypervisor into a single, browser‑managed system that automates high availability and reduces operational complexity. The result: easy deployment and day‑to‑day management without specialized training, automatic failover (proven when a drive failed and was transparently restriped), included support/warranty, and cost‑effective scalability that enabled a secondary HC3 site for disaster recovery.
