A Scale Computing Case Study
Sevier County Bank, founded in 1909 and operating six locations with a two-person IT team, needed to modernize aging Windows Server 2003 infrastructure that supported critical banking applications. The bank faced risks from hardware failures, limited scalability, and strict business continuity requirements, and it was also upgrading to Windows Server 2012/2012R2 while keeping costs and administration simple.
Scale Computing implemented its HyperCore hyperconverged platform for Sevier County Bank, including an HC2000 cluster at the primary site and an HC1000 cluster for disaster recovery. The solution cut projected costs from about $180,000 for a VMware setup to around $60,000 with licensing included, simplified management, enabled fast VM cloning, and provided automatic high availability and replication. As a result, Sevier County Bank gained local and remote resilience, could test disaster recovery easily, and estimated potential data loss of only about five minutes of recent changes.
