KIB Electronics - Customer Case Study

KIB Electronics, a 150-employee electronics manufacturer in Elkhart, IN, supports more than 4,000 projects for over 1,300 customers but was running an ad-hoc, budget-constrained IT environment managed by a two-person IT staff. After a severe storm took down production servers and disrupted manufacturing and deliveries, the company needed a more reliable, 24x7 data center infrastructure to avoid costly downtime and support business-critical applications (ERP, HealthCore, SQL) and VDI testing.

KIB replaced its legacy setup with Scale Computing’s HC3 (4 x HC2000), a hyperconverged solution that took only a few hours to install and now runs 12 VMs hosting core systems. The new platform simplified management, improved availability and scalability, enabled snapshots for faster troubleshooting, and restored IT confidence and work-life balance for staff — with plans to add offsite disaster recovery using HC3 replication.
