A Scale Computing Case Study

Families, Inc. - Customer Case Study

Families, Inc., a Jonesboro, AR outpatient mental health provider with 350 employees and a two-person IT team, needed an infrastructure refresh to support a HIPAA‑compliant email upgrade and broader virtualization. They weighed a hosted service (too costly over time) and a do‑it‑yourself VMware + EMC VNXe build (too complex to manage and scale for a small IT staff), and needed an in‑house solution that kept control and met security requirements.

They deployed Scale Computing’s HC3 four‑node “datacenter‑in‑a‑box,” which combines servers, storage and virtualization in a single, easy‑to‑manage system. HC3 simplified management into one interface, allowed seamless scaling by adding nodes, reduced ongoing total cost of ownership versus the alternatives, and gave Families the in‑house control required for HIPAA compliance.
