Anamosa Community School District - Customer Case Study

Anamosa Community School District, a progressive K–12 district in eastern Iowa, needed a modern, scalable IT platform while building a new middle school. With a small IT team and an existing mix of Hyper‑V and physical servers, the district required highly available virtual machines, simple remote management, and an affordable solution. A traditional Hyper‑V plus branded servers and shared storage option proved too complex, costly, and risky because support could be fragmented across vendors.

They chose Scale Computing HC3, a hyperconverged “datacenter‑in‑a‑box” that unifies servers, storage, and virtualization under a single HTML5 management interface. HC3 delivered automatic VM high availability, easy remote management for one administrator, and simple node‑based scalability with no complex licensing. The district quickly rolled HC3 into production at the new middle school, later replaced the aging Hyper‑V deployment at the high school, enabled site‑to‑site replication, and gained the operational simplicity and reliability they needed.
