Voyage, a Santa Clara–based autonomous vehicle company focused on on-demand community transportation, needed high-quality, diverse sensor fusion datasets to train its perception models—open datasets were poorly annotated and lacked domain-specific examples like golf carts. To meet tight development timelines and ensure data quality, Voyage partnered with Scale and adopted Scale’s Sensor Fusion Cuboids product and APIs for combined camera and LiDAR annotation.

Scale delivered a solution combining rich tooling, trained human annotators, and integrations (including a “Send to Scale” button and private Slack support), producing consistently accurate annotations and faster turnarounds that integrated directly into Voyage’s development stack. By using Scale, Voyage improved annotation quality and operational efficiency, scaled up labeling volume, and freed engineers to focus on autonomy development while maintaining confidence in critical training and validation data.
