TextNow, a free texting and calling app, faced significant financial losses from mobile ad install fraud in its user acquisition campaigns. Scalarr implemented its AI-powered anti-fraud solution to analyze TextNow's traffic. Using unsupervised machine learning, Scalarr's engine identified and rejected fraudulent installs, leading to direct refunds and the detection of new complex fraud like VTA spoofing. As a result, TextNow's traffic quality improved to over 92%, and Scalarr's efforts led to direct savings of $115,000 and an estimated $793,000 in indirect savings over a six-month period.
